Peltonen Knives warranty terms and conditions

These warranty terms vary depending on your location. Please refer to the applicable section below.

EU / EEA Customers

1. SCOPE OF TERMS AND INTENDED USE

1.1 This Warranty applies to all the knives (hereinafter referred to as the “Knife”) purchased by “You” and manufactured by Peltonen Knives (Business ID FI 2105854-3) (“We”) and its subcontractors. The Knives are intended to be used by consumers and non-consumers for recreational and professional purposes such as camping, hunting, bushcraft, survival, wood processing and military use. In accordance with these Warranty terms and conditions, the Knives are warranted against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship, when they are used in a manner they are intended for. The packaging for the Knife and this Warranty describe the intended and unintended use in more detail.

2. WARRANTY

2.1 All materials for the Knives have been chosen carefully, considering the needs of the widest possible user base, and the knives have been developed and tested by our professionals. We truly believe the Knives to be long-lasting and, therefore We offer a ten-year Warranty as of Your purchase of the Knife from Us or from any of our authorized resellers (hereinafter referred to as the “Warranty Period”). Our authorized resellers are listed at www.peltonenknives.com/resellers.

2.2 During the Warranty Period, We undertake to, free of charge for You, either repair the Knife or replace the Knife, at our discretion, due to defects that are attributable to manufacturing or materials, and which are reported by You to Us or the reseller within thirty (30) days of noticing such defect. We will also pay for freight from our location to your home or place of business when sending the Knife due to a repair or a replacement.

2.3 This Warranty applies only for Knives purchased and used within the EU and/or the European Economic Area.

3. LIMITATION OF WARRANTY

3.1 In addition to what is stated above, the Warranty does not cover damages due to:

(a) normal wear and tear;

(b) misuse, intentional act;

(c) modifications by any other party than Us;

(d) loss of Knife;

(e) extreme temperatures or defects caused by extreme weather conditions;

(f) use of Knife against applicable laws; or

(g) repairs by any other party than Us.

3.2 For avoidance of the doubt, the Warranty does not include Us performing any other services to the Knife than stated above in Section 2.2. Therefore, for example sharpening of the blade is not provided by Us.

3.3 The Warranty does not apply, when the Knife is used for other purposes than to the purposes, which it is intended for. The Knife is not intended to be used, including but not limited to as a hammer, a chisel, a pry bar or a screwdriver.

3.4 If the Knife is damaged due to the misuse of the Knife, as a one-time courtesy offer, We offer to the original purchaser of the Knife the option to purchase a new equivalent Knife for a 50% discount from the regular prices listed at www.peltonenknives.com. This Section 3.4 does not apply to any custom Knives or special edition Knives or limited-edition Knives.

3.5 The repair or replacement of the Knife does not extend the term of the Warranty Period.

3.6 Our liability is limited in accordance with these Warranty Terms, and the Warranty does not cover any damages potentially caused by the Knife to other objects or persons.

WARRANTY PROCEDURE

4.1 If You notice a defect in material or workmanship of the Knife, contact Us or the reseller You bought the Knife from within thirty (30) days from noticing such defect. We or the reseller will provide further information relating to the claim and how to send the Knife back to Us. At least the following information from You will be needed: Your full name, contact information such as full street address, telephone number and email, proof and the date of the purchase, the nature of the defect and when it was discovered. We may ask You to provide a photo of the Knife.

4.2 In case We have discontinued the manufacturing of the particular Knife in question, the defective Knife will be replaced with the most similar Knife still in production.

We hereby limit the duration and remedies with respect to all implied warranties, including without limitation the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose to the ten-year duration of this express limited warranty.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

5.1 The remedies described above are your sole and exclusive remedies and our entire liability for any breach of this limited warranty. Our liability shall under no circumstances exceed the actual amount paid by you for the defective product, nor shall we under any circumstances be liable for any consequential, incidental, special or punitive damages or losses, whether direct or indirect, including but not limited to harm or injury to any person resulting from deliberate or accidental misuse of the knife.

6. STATE LAW APPLICATION

6.1 Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

6.2 This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.
